How to save on Amazon, step by step

• Start from this page and tap an offer or “Shop at Amazon”. It costs you nothing, and it is how Amazon pays us for listing its deals.
• Look through Today's Deals for what you need. A Lightning Deal shows how long it has left and how much of its stock is gone.
• On the product page, tick “Apply coupon” if one is shown.
• Compare sellers: “Other sellers on Amazon”, where shown, can list the same item at a different price or delivery date.
• At checkout, check which bank and card offers apply, and No Cost EMI if you pay in instalments. The checkout shows every discount before you pay.
• For a big purchase that can wait, consider one of Amazon's big sales, below. Many prices drop then, though not every one.

Ways to save on Amazon

• Today's Deals: discounts across categories, refreshed through the day. Lightning Deals run for a limited time or until their stock runs out.
• Coupons: tick “Apply coupon” on the product page, and the saving comes off at checkout.
• Bank and card offers: instant discounts with selected credit and debit cards, shown on the product page and applied at checkout.
• No Cost EMI on selected products and cards, where the interest is covered by a discount.
• Exchange offers on selected phones and large appliances: trade in an old one for money off the new one.
• Subscribe & Save on everyday essentials, for a discount on repeat deliveries you can skip or cancel.

What Amazon.in offers

• A very wide range, sold by Amazon's many independent sellers as well as by Amazon.
• Items marked “Fulfilled” are stored, packed and shipped by Amazon itself.
• The delivery date is shown before you pay. Faster delivery options depend on your pin code and the item.
• Many products can be returned or replaced. Whether one can, and for how long, is shown on its page.
• Amazon Prime is a paid membership with free, faster delivery on eligible items and other benefits. Amazon's Prime page lists the current benefits and price.

Amazon's big sales

Amazon.in sets the names and dates of its sales, and announces each one a few weeks ahead. These are the ones it has held in recent years.

• Great Indian Festival: the biggest, in the festive season around Dussehra and Diwali.
• Prime Day: for Prime members only, usually in July.
• Great Republic Day Sale: in January.
• Great Freedom Festival: around Independence Day in August.

Paying on Amazon

• Credit and debit cards, net banking and UPI.
• Amazon Pay balance, and EMI on eligible cards.
• Pay on Delivery on eligible orders, where the option shows at checkout.

Delivery

• The delivery date and any delivery charge are shown before you pay.
• Amazon Prime members get free, faster delivery on eligible items, and early access to some deals during sales.
• Track every order under Your Orders in the Amazon app or on Amazon.in.

Cancellations, returns and refunds

• An order can usually be cancelled from Your Orders until it has been dispatched.
• Whether an item can be returned or replaced, and for how long, depends on the product. It is shown on the product page.
• Refunds go back to the original payment method, or to your Amazon Pay balance if you choose. Amazon's own return policy has the full rules.
